Reading Room HUG, 31 January 2012
The Village Celebration held on Saturday 14th January proved to be a great success with lots of villagers getting together to celebrate the funding raising efforts in 2011 towards the Reading Room Restoration fund. Events are already being planned to continue the fund raising in 2012. If you would like to get involved, please come along to the next HUG meeting at 8pm on 31st January in the Fox and Hounds.
Film Show, 14 February 2012
The next film show will feature the classic film ‘ High Society’. As usual doors will open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Light refreshments will be available. Bring your loved one along for a valentines treat!
Kings & Dukes – Local History Talk, 25 February 2012
Roger Drage will give a talk in the Reading Room entitled ‘Kings & Dukes: the power game that shaped our local area’. Part one of the talk will cover ‘Local Life under the Dukes of Grafton’. After a break for refreshments, part two will cover ‘Elizabeth Woodville – The Triumphs and Tragedies of a local girl who became Queen of England’. Tickets (£5 for adults, under 18s free) available from Tony Peace, Rebecca Chapman, David Randall, at Friday Coffee Morning or on the door. Proceeds towards the Reading Room HUG.
